Counting my Blessings

Every night, I read a book and say prayers with my kiddos. Kyle puts Brooks to bed and I snuggle Collins.

Collins was wiggly and kicking her little legs tonight. Instead of telling her to “calm down, it’s night night time,” I gently put a hand on her legs and silently prayed.

I prayed, “Thank you, God, for these perfect, healthy, energetic legs on my baby girl. I am so thankful that they will be healthy legs. That they won’t grow to betray her because of Friedreichs Ataxia. That they won’t grow debilitatingly weary on an average day. That she can dance, run and play with these legs. Please let her grow up and know what a blessing her beautiful body is.”

As I fly to Atlanta for my final #KendallRTA408 visit tomorrow, I am profoundly grateful that my children will never have to do this. 🙏🏻
